The xxx Printer is installed by default on all xxx workstations with a Windows operating system. Follow this instruction if you want to install the printer for Mac.
Important: To install the printer software, your computer must be connected to the xxx network.

Download the Mac OSX printer software here.
- Put the file in a folder that is available to all users of the Mac.
Tip: Use the shared folder: Macintosh HD:Users:Shared.
- Choose Apple menu
> System Preferences > [Printers & Scanners].
- Click the plus-button (+) to add the new printer.
Add [Advanced] using [Customize Toolbar...] when it is not available.
- Under [Type], select LPD/LPR Host or Printer.
- Enter in the [URL:] field:
<RUG-ID@CANRUGRPS03.ps15.mycanonprint.nl/RUG_Printer_macOS>
Where you replace <RUG-ID> with your personal user name on the University network.
For example: P123456@CANRUGRPS03.ps15.mycanonprint.nl/RUG_Printer_macOS
- Enter in the [Name] field: [RUG Printer]
- Enter in the [Location] field: [RUG]
- Select in the [Use] field: [Other].
- Browse to the .ppd file you have downloaded and click [Open].
- Click [Add].
- Click [Continue] if the following message appears.
14. Set the printer settings. Then click [OK].
15. Set the RUG Printer as the default printer. Control-click the new printer and select [Set Default Printer].
16. You can now delete the downloaded file.
17. The RUG Printer is now ready for use.
